The Kuala Selangor Feeding Program

Friday, 4th February 2011

Project MADE is proud to announce that for the year 2011, The Kuala Selangor Feeding Program will be carried out regularly, consistently and diligently. Joseph Selvarajah - who is our Contact Person in Kuala Selangor has agreed to work closely with Project MADE in order to make this program a success. We are thankful to him for his dedication.

The Kuala Selangor Feeding Program covers a wide area. These areas are Kuala Selangor, Tanjong Karang, Batang Berjuntai and Ijok. 30 families are being supplied with the Grocery Bag on a monthly basis.

The drive to Kuala Selangor is so very pleasant, especially in the morning. The crisp morning air is very refreshing. The families are dispersed far & wide. It is always a pleasure to enter the estates and being welcomed by the lovely scenery awaiting us. I fell in love with Ladang Kuala Selangor....it is so picture perfect. Check out the picture below:

The families whom we are assisting are poor & underprivileged. Look at the pictures and judge for yourself if they are entittled to the assistance that we offer......

Thank You So Much to our very generous Sponsors - Jinny (my neighbour), her family & friends, The Bangsar Couple (who wish to be annoymous), Puan Siti Haja Teh & Family (who unquestionably sponsored the bags of rice for the last few years already) . We at Project MADE are very, very grateful. Your contributions have ensured that hunger is kept at bay for our families.
Thank You for Making A Difference!

The 2011 Feeding Program....

Saturday, 5th February 2011

The Kapar Feeding Program for the year 2011, started with a pleasant surprise when Sri Narayani Foundation (SNF) offered to fully sponsor 30 families in Kapar for the year 2011. It is indeed an honour for Project MADE to be able to work closely with SNF.

The Kapar Feeding Program is now called Project MADE & Sri Narayani Foundation Joint Feeding Program. We have added some new families but some of the old families are still being supported. Some families need to be assisted for example families which consist of senior citizens who have no means of supporting themselves or families which are made up of children who have been abandoned by their parents. In these instances, these folks are not able to pull themselves out of their dire situations.

Just an update on The Kapar Folks. Paner Selvam is still in a vegetative state. Ever since we entered Kapar in April 2009, his condition does not seemed to improve. Everytime we visited, he was always seen sleeping. We are beginning to wonder.....We have been told that his 15 year old daughter Vicky has stopped schooling and left home to be with her 27 year old boyfriend! We are very disappointed as Vicky was one of the few bright spots in Kapar which we thought might be able to make it......

Check out Paner's condition in the photo below:

We have alsao included some new families on our List. This picture below is that of Shanti & her family. Shanti is a Cleaner at The Kapar CNC. Her children are studying at The Kapar CNC and also being assisted with with school uniforms etc.

Check out my new wheels.....

Under Project MADE's Health is Wealth Program, a brand new red wheelchair was presented to the Anandan Family, in Kapar. It is uinfortunate that this family has three children who are mentally & physically challenged.

The three of them, Anasegaran a/l Anandan - 13 yrs old, Thilaga a/p Anandan - 11 yrs old, Arulwani a/p Anandan - 8 yrs old have been supported by Project MADE under The Special Needs Program. Every month they are supplied with disposable diapers, milk powder, MILO, Nestum.ee

It is a joy to see the smile on Ansegaran's face when he was placed on his spanking new red wheelchair. Even his Mom & Grandma couldn't stop smiling. Now the children can be taken out of the house more often.

I am trying to equip this family with another wheelchair and a commode as well.

Hello...

Tuesday, 15th March 2011

It has been quite a while since my last entry. Wah! How time flies...!

I am guilty as charged. It is MY fault - you see I have been procrastinating. So many things have happened along the way...one of which is our name change - eventhough the spir and the estsence of this mission has not changed an iota.

Hooray...we are now officially operating under the banner of Project MADE. We can now sigh with relief as we are now able to make a difference everywhere - serving community everywhere and touching lives everywhere....

I am motivated more than ever operating under the flagship of Project MADE. Hoping to make a difference everywhere - regardless of race, religion, culture or political beliefs....

Salaam...from Project MADE

Tuesday, 1st March 2011

Today marks the very first day Project MADE makes its debut in the Blogspot. FRIENDS OF KAPAR is now called Project MADE. We at FRIENDS OF KAPAR have thought long and hard regarding this name change.

As you all know - we first entered Kapar in April 2009. From April 2009 till now, we have fully supported The Kapar Folks & Kidz. A lot of work, effort, time and resources have been put into assisting the The Kapar Folks & Kidz. Now, The Kapar Folks & Kidz lack of nothing, as their needs have been taken care of by many generous Donors & Contributors. The Community Nurture Centre - CNC Kapar is now run by an Administrator who is paid a small stipend. All expanses pertaining to CNC Kapar is fully sponsored by FOKAP Sdn. Bhd. Even the Kapar Feeding Program for the year 2011 is fully sponsored by Sri Narayani Foundation. The Kapar Feeding Program is now called The Friends of Kapar & Sri Narayani Foundation Joint Feeding Program 2011.

Since Kapar's needs have been taken care of - FRIENDS OF KAPAR is actively looking at other areas where the needs of the poor & the underprivileged are still being ignored and overlooked.

In October 2010 - FRIENDS OF KAPAR started a Feeding Program in Kuala Krau, Pahang. We fed 30 Orang Asli families, in this area. We also gave many clothes, toys, and household items to the Kuala Krau Folks & Kidz.

In November/ December 2010 -FRIENDS OF KAPAR went to Kota Bharu, Kelantan and completed a Back to School Program with 64 poor & underprivileged school children. The Back to School Program 2011 with The KB Kidz provided school uniform, shoes, socks, school bags & stationery sets.

During this time - it was the flood season in Kelantan, FRIENDS OF KAPAR donated reference & school books to many children in Kelantan who had lost their books to the flood.

In January 2011, FRIENDS OF KAPAR started The Rawang Feeding Program with Rumah Siraman Kasih, in Rawang. Most of the The Rawang Kidz are orphans, abandoned, poor & underprivileged children. Recently, we contributed PE attire, stationery sets, food & drink containers for the children. A monthly contribution of 50kg rice, 10kg flour, 10kg meehoon, 5kg sugar, 5kg salt, 5kg oil, 5kg potato, 10 tins sardines, 20 loaves bread, 2 jars peanut butter, 4 tins biscuit, 2 tins Horlicks, 10 crate MILO Packet Drink, 60 eggs, 3 carton Maggi Mee, bath soaps & tooth paste. The food items under The Rawang Feeding Program is fully sponsored by a generous foreign benefactor.

In April 2011 - FRIENDS OF KAPAR will be going into Hulu Selangor. The Hulu Selangor Feeding Program aims to feed 50 or more poor & underprivileged families in Batang Kali, Kuala Kubu Baru and Ulu Bernam. There are Malay, Chinese, Indian & Orang Asli families in these areas. The Hulu Selangor Feeding Program is fully sponsored by a grant.

We are currently concentrating our efforts in Kuala Selangor. The Kuala Selangor Feeding Program is currently feeding 30 families in the areas of Kuala Selangor, Tanjong Karang and Batang Berjuntai. The profile of the families in Kuala Selangor are similar to those in Kapar. In the pipeline is another CNC very much like CNC Kapar. CNC Kuala Selangor aims to provide the same services which are being provided in Kapar, to The Kuala Selangor Kidz.

As you can see, FRIENDS OF KAPAR has evolved so much and we have spread our wings far & wide. It is not possible and feasible to call ourselves FRIENDS OF KAPAR any longer and limit our activities to Kapar alone. Hence, we have decided to rebrand our activities around the the tagline "Making A Difference". From now on, we will operate our community activities under a new banner called "Making A Difference Everywhere" in short Project MADE. This name allows us to make a difference in many, many other poor & underprivileged communities - regardless of race, religion, culture & political beliefs.
