Our very 1st Ramadhan/ Aidil Fitri Feeding Prog.....

Sunday, 14/8/2011 - Project MADE carried out its very FIRST Ramadhan/ Aidil Fitri Feeding Program. This feeding prog is a collaboration with Jemaah Surau Nestle Head Office, under their program - Ramadhan Activity. Project MADE contributed 10 bags of 5kg rice and 36 bottles of Maggi Chili Sauce towards the Program.

We all arrived at 9am at the distribution centre - Surau Nurul Hidayah, Taman Baru Subang. After a quick salaam & hellos to everyone, we started packing & arranging the food items. A total of 10 bags of goodies worth RM200 each were arranged neatly in the Nestle Green Bag. In the bags were - flour, sugar, oil, sardines, Nona Ketupat, serunding, biscuits, eggs, cornflakes, Nescafe, Maggi Mee, Maggi Chili Sauce, Batik Sarong, Pelikat Sarong, prayer mat, prayer cloth.

On top of the Grocery Bags - the families were also given Duit Raya.

10 families consisting of single mothers and the poor & underprivileged were the beneficiaries. On top of that, 30 orphans from the community was also given Duit Raya.

Above: The very first house visited by the Nestle Contingent.... the old lady is a widow. She is very old & feeble. As she was not able to walk, we went over to her house for the presentation. Her adopted daughter was a teacher in Sri KDU but had to give up her job - 2 years ago - to take care of her mother. I am not sure how they managed with their daily expanses......

Mentakab Feeding Program

Friday, 5/8/2011 - The Mentakab Feeding Program wsa carried out successfully. A total of 20 families were served under this program. The Mentakab Feeding Program is sponsored under The ECO Grant.

For this month, the Mentakab Folks were supplied with rice, wheat flour. meehoon. sugar, salt, oil, sardine, dhall, Maggi Chili Sauce.

Some preloved clothes and shoes were also distributed on the feeding rounds. This month Project MADE started it support for The Mentakab Tuition Group. A total of 10 children from Kg. Awak Estate, Mentakab are given free tuition and sustenance. We have committed to support this Tution Group by giving sustenance in the form of cream roll/ buns/ cakes/ biscuit & MILO for these children as well as to the other children to encourage them to attend tuition. Anyhow, most of the children come to class hungry as they have no food to eat at home.

Project MADE is looking at supporting more of such Tuition Groups in other rural areas as well as to provide for more substantial assistance, depending on the availability of funding.

Majlis Berbuka Puasa with Rawang Kidz.....

Saturday, 6/8/2011 (6th day of Ramadhan) - The Rawang Kidz from Rumah Siraman Kasih, Rawang was invited to a Majlis Bebuka PUasa at Tropica Resort Golf & Country Cluchouse by Patrick Thevarajah of The Potter Groupe. A total of 45 boys & Girls plus their Minders were feted on that day.


The children arrived at 6:45pm on a chartered bus. Thet were very excited as it was the Buka Puasa for them at a Hotel. They were however very disciplined and polite minding their ps & qs. It was such a joy to watch them.

At 7:30pm when Azan was called out signifying the end of fasting for the day, the children quietly ate their dates and drank some water. After a little food they went for their Maghrib Prayers. Immediately after prayers they ate their rice and enjoyed the rest of the buffet.


The Rawang Kidz were given "Duit Raya' of RM10 each. Their Minders were also given "Duit Raya" of RM10 per person. On top of that, a contribution of RM1 000 was given to Rumah Siraman Kasih to pay for their electricity & water bill - which is long overdue.

Above: The Rawang Boyz immediately after Maghrib Prayers. It was such an amazing sight to see these young boys of 7 - 12 years olddiligently performing their Maghrib Prayers in a group. They were led into prayers by their peer who is only 12 years old! They went for their prayers without even being prompted!

The children went back to Rawang at 9pm.Full of food, happy and RM10 richer!

A Friendly Visit.........SASK - The Soup Kitchen

Project MADE is always looking to extend its web of assistance far & wide. It has amission to assist the poor & underprivileged regardless of race, religion, culture OR political beliefs.

"We CANNOT change the world but we CAN make a difference". True to our mission & vision - Project MADE is now extending its web of assistance towards SASK - THe Soup Kitchen.

On Wednesday, 27/7/2011 - Project MADE together with EP Chew of 1Month 1Charity visited SASK. SASK is situated in the poorer area of Shah Alam. We met Puan Lisa - owner 7 operator of SASK.

We were given a tour of the venue and a briefing as to the workings of SASK. We also expressed a desire to the prospect of working together in this Feeding Program.

With this visit, Project MADE delivered 360 bottles of Chili Sauce. We departed with the promise to revisit SASK.

True to our words, we came back, a week later - on Wed, 3/8/2011 (3rd day of Ramadhan). This time Project MADE delivered 240 packs of 1L MILO Milk Drink. 1Month 1Charity brought rice, meehoon, sugar, sardines, oil eggs, onion, garlic. We also discussed and confirmed on our plans to open SASK to its patrons. It is agreed that on the 3rd Saturday of every month, Project MADE & 1M 1C will sponsor ALL the food served at SASK.

This Feeding Program will be known as "Project MADE & 1Month 1Charity Joint Feeding Program @ SASK - The Soup Kitchen" or in short SASK Feeding Prog. For the time being, we will open only once a month, this arrangement will be maintained till Dec. of 2011. Come 2012, we will review this arrangement and depending on the availability of funding we may increase the frequency of the program to twice a month.

Main Meal : White Rice/ Chicken & Veg Curry/ Cucumber Slices & Sambal Belacan
Drinks: Iced Cold Orange Sunkist Cordial
Dessert: Apples
Afters: Teh O/ Kueh-Mueh/ Cream Rolls

We are expecting to serve about 200 pax on that Sat. Both Project MADE & 1M 1C are excited to lauch this project. We have received pledges of contributions for some of the items and we are still looking for more. We welcome Volunteers and contribution of ready to eat food for this program. As the patrons are of various race & religion, it is best to keep the food "halal", taking sensitivity into account.
