April Feeding Program

The April Feeding Program was held with the help of our regular volunteers - Suresh & his family. Below are the details of the feeding programs held just last week:

1. Kuala Selangor Feeding Program - held on Friday 6/5/2011 & Saturday 7/5/2011. This feeding program feeds 30 families living in and around Kuala Selangor, Tanjung Karang, Batang Berjuntai & Ijok.

2. Kapar Feeding Program - held on Saturday 7/5/2011 & Sunday 8/5/2011. This feeding program feeds 30 families living in & around Kapar.

3. Rawang Feeding Program - held on Sunday 8/5/2011. This feeding program feeds 50 orphans & abandoned children living in an orphanage in Rawang.

Apart from the individual families, Project MADE also feeds Shanti Home, Kapar. Shanti Home houses abandoned old & handicapped folks. The numbers in Shanti Home has now increased to 20. We too have increased our food packages to Shanti Home. We now provide 20kg of rice to the Home, instead of the usual 5kg bag.

For the April Feeding, every family is provided with 5 kg bag rice, 1 kg wheat flour, 1 packet meehoon, 1 packet sugar, 1 packet salt, 1 tin sardines & toiletries which includes 1 bar of bath soap & some shampoo. The toiletries were contributed by the students of Sri KDU Secondary School. Suresh & his family brought 60 loaves of bread and these were distributed to the families.

In our visits, the children are the ones who are most excited when meeting us, as they are usually surprised with some extras - bars of chocolates, sweets, biscuits, buns, cakes or fruits....

Check out the pictures, Eva - our photographer - captured of the children's anticipation & eagerness ...

Project MADE also brought with them a baby rocker. And this was passed on to one of the expecting mothers in Kapar. Actually there are three of them awaiting the birth of their babies. In the next round - during the May Feeding, we will bring some nappies, infant clothes & baby feeding bottles and these will be passed to the mothers & their babies. Thank you, Asha for donating these items.

Thank you to all our contributors & donors for the various food items contributed this month. Our gratitude goes to Sri Narayani Foundation, Chern & Kim Guan, Jinny & family, Melisa Chin & The ECO Team, Sri KDU Secondary School, Dr. Tan, Puan Sit Haja & family, Suresh & family.

As the saying goes - a picture paints a thousand words....Check out these pictures which captured gratitude......
