Project MADE first entered Kapar on Wednesday - 22/4/2009 at 2pm. On Saturday, 25/4/2009 at 6:50pm we started our very first feeding. We fed exactly 7 families in Kg. Tap - a dilapidated settlement in Kapar.
Now, 3 years down the line, Project MADE have fed more than hundreds of poor & underprivileged families. We have brought reliefs to the Kapar Folks. It is without doubt that in serving Kapar, we have touched many, many lives there.
In serving the community, a Community Nurture Centre - CNC Kapar, was set up. CNC Kapar provides free tuition for the children of the community, 3 times a week. Project MADE invested a lot of time, effort and resources in the setting up of the CNC Kapar.
Apart from the setting up capital there is the day to day running expanses of the Centre. Every month, RM2 000 is set aside for rental, utility, tutors' allowance, transportation allowance, administrator's allowance and contingencies. All these would NOT be possible without the support of our very, very generous donors, contributors & sponsors.
CNC Kapar is kitted with brand new furnitures, fixtures and fittings. There are 5 air-conditioning units, 6 ceiling fans, 4 wall fans, cupboards, shelvings, a treasure trove of library books for the children's reading pleasure, tv & video player + a trove of children's tapes & videos, toys for the children's amusement. All these infra-instructure are dedicated to the Community of Kapar.
Right from the very beginning, it has always been the wish of Project MADE to hand the Centre back to the Kapar Community, making it their collective responsibility to run the Centre for their own community, as they deem fit.
After a lot of trial & error, Project MADE believes that the community is NOW ready to run the centre for their own community. As of June 2011 - the CNC Kapar is run by the community for it's own community!
Project MADE is proud to have been a part of CNC Kapar and it's history. We wish them the best of luck & will always be supportive of their endeavour.
Great job Ainie! :)
