Visiting Ijok

Project MADE conducted its monthly Ijok Feeding Prog at Kg. Parit Mahang on Wed, 25/ 4/ 2012. As usual, with The Monster laden with Food Parcels & other goodies, we drove from Damansara : PM HQ very early in the morning and arrived at our destination as early as 8am.

Our first stop were 2 “Tadika Kampung” – The Village Pre Schools. We distributed cans of MILO drinks to the children. The children were delighted. Our only regret was that we did not bring any other sustenance. After a short friendly chats with the children & teachers, we left to resume visitations to the various families’ homes. But we went away with a promise to return the next month with some cream buns. Check out the delight etched on the children's faces.......

Above: A "new" family
Above: At 14, this girl has NEVER met her dad - as he died when she was a tiny baby. Her other sister died at the age of 23. Now she & her Mom has only each other. When we came to visit in their humble rented home she was all alone whilst Mom is at work......
Above: The boy in stripped T is only 10 yrs old and yet he has played truant many, many times. He ran away from school so many times. I dread to think of his future without education.....
Above: This woman is a divorcee. She met with an accident 3 months ago and is not able to work. With 5 young  children, life is a bit tight. To add insult to her misery - her ex husband is evicting the whole family as he is taking possession of the marital home.
Above: This man above has 11 children. 2 are married and have moved away. He is the bread winner of the household and yet not able to work as he is suffering from a heart disease. he is under treatment at the Hospital.
Above: Milk for the baby.....
Above: This woman is a widow. Her husband passed away in a "sudden death" incident, June 2011. She has always been a mom-at-home. She has 3 young children. the 2nd child has lung/ breathing complication. The child needs oxygen kit to breathe 24-7. She just started school as she is now possesses an "external artificial lung" ie. a portable breathing apparatus.
Above: The "unfortunate" Fatin & her children. At 23, Fatin is left to take of 3 very young children as her  equally young, drug addicted husband languished in Tapah Prison for theft & possession of stolen goods. Fatin is asthmathic and needs her inhaler. her eldest boy - is autistic & mentally challenged. Fatin washes dishes at the "warong" next door to raise her children.
Above: These are Mas's children. It is sad to see them. They hardly have enough to eat. They usually eat porridge instead of rice as there's NEVER enough rice for all of them. Their father is an unreliable & is work-shy. Their mother suffers &" begs" around for sympathy to feed her children!
Above: Hard at workk despite poverty. Hopefully he breaks away from the vicious cycle of poverty.

Project MADE & our Feeding Families are grateful to ALL our Sponsors/ Contributors for the generous Food Parcels, to Tuan Haji Baharom – the Kg. Parit Mahang Village Headman for facilitating our Feeding Program. Last but not least to 2 very special friends Mui Yoon & Art for “being there” and sharing – you guys are really GREAT!!

To ALL - Thank you for making a difference!
