This old house is the home for a very old woman in Kg. Api-Api, Kuala Sgor. She lives here alone as her husband has passed on. Her husband died due to excessive drinking. She has a daughter & a son. Unfortunately - her daughter's husband too is sick and dying - due to excessive drinking. Sometimes, her drunkard son comes back to sleep but most of the time she is on her own. Recently, she was admitted to the hospital for a weakened heart. When we came on Sat, 10/9/2011 to send her the Grocery Bag, she could hardly stand, as she is rather weak after her stint at the hospital.
Her house is NOT liveable. The floors were rotten and infested with termite. There are holes in every inch of the walls & roofs. On a hot day - rays of sunlight could be seen filtering through the many holes. On a rainy day - tiny droplets of water could be felt trickling down creating a rivulets on the termite infested flooring. The staircase could not be trodden upon as its structure is weakened with dry rot.
It pains my heart to see her living in this condition - but to her it is her HOME and where she hopes to die in......
