Project MADE concluded its very last project for the Ramadhan/ Aidil Fitri Programs on Wed, 17/8/2011, a few days before Hari Raya. We concluded the Light of Cheer Programs: Ramadhan/ Aidil Fitri - with a simple Majlis Berbuka Puasa with the Rawang Kidz. This function was fully sponsored by Rotary Club Metro KL, helmed by Club President Ooi.
What was most unique about this function was that the RC Members were ALL non - Muslim, but they set aside all indifferences by feeding the Rawang Kidz who are ALL Muslims! The RC members even broke fast with the children and diligently observed all restrictions. To me it was amazing!
The spirit of "oneness" was so openly displayed in its simplicity. There was no pomp & splendour just simple understanding & respect. It gladdened my heart to see such display....The children too displayed their affection by kissing the hands of the adult RC members as they would normally do, without looking at race OR religion.
The children broke their fast with 2 pieces of kuih + sweet dates. Then they were feted with Nasi Tomato + Beef/ Chicken Rendang + iced cold drinks.
At the end of the meal, all the children were given Duit Ray & a piece of bath towel, each.
